Day 1 October 9th
Arrive at Lahore International Airport and transfer to the hotel to unwind and refresh after your travels. With flights arriving early, there’s time to rest before meeting the group and heading out to Shalimar Garden. The evening brings one of Pakistan’s most iconic experiences: the Wagah Border Ceremony, where patriotic chants, precision marching, and pure energy create an atmosphere that’s impossible to explain until you witness it yourself. The night ends with our first taste of Pakistan at a traditional Lahori dinner.

Day 2 October 10th
Lahore’s history unfolds inside the Walled City, where centuries-old streets buzz with daily life. The day includes visits to the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, and Delhi Gate, offering a powerful glimpse into the city’s past and present. Dinner is served at Haveli Restaurant, known for its incredible views overlooking the illuminated mosque.

Day 3 October 11th
A morning flight carries us north to Skardu, with dramatic mountain views the entire way. After landing, the journey continues to Upper Kachura Lake, with an optional boat ride across vivid blue waters. Traveling through Xouq Valley, we’ll stop for a scenic yet incredibly peaceful lunch surrounded by the mountains. The afternoon includes entering Shangrilla to see Lower Kachura Lake, and a short climb to a scenic viewpoint. From here on out, the landscapes feel unreal, pure pinch-me moments. We’re checking into the coolest accommodations at a yurt camp (glamping)!
(There are three yurts with two beds, and five yurts have king beds, meaning a few guests would need to be comfortable sharing a king bed for two nights for this to workout. Logistics can be discussed once the trip fills. If it doesn’t workout, other accommodations will be chosen.)

Day 4 October 12th
The morning begins with chai, a Pakistani omelette, and parantha enjoyed outside of our yurts in the crisp mountain air. From here, the route leads into Shigar Valley and a visit to the historic Shigar Fort. There is a local dumpling spot we’ll stop at that’s sooo yummy. We’ll head towards Blind Lake and through the Sarfaranga Cold Desert, where optional ATV rides or a giant swing over the desert offer a rush of adrenaline. Hoping to catch a local Polo match if the schedule aligns with our days here!

Day 5 October 13th
Mountain roads guide the journey toward Hunza Valley, with road-trip snacks and scenic stops along the way. We’ll stop at the iconic Rakaposhi viewpoint for lunch. Arriving in Ghulkin brings a us to our homestay for the evening. We’ll check into this lovely families home and learn how to make traditional foods from the north with a cooking class led by the woman of the household. The night feels like a big sleepover, with shared sleeping arrangements and warm hospitality.

Day 6 October 14th
Fuel up for breakfast before a hike through Baskochi Meadows reveals views of Attabad Lake’s striking blue waters from above. This lake was formed by a landslide just a few years ago. Don’t feel like hiking? Opt for an optional boat ride on the lake instead. The day continues with views of the most photographed peak in Pakistan - Passu Cones and lunch at Yak Grill. If you’re up for a dip we’ll head to Borit Lake for a swim, followed by a short hike to Passu Glacier. The evening ends returning to the homestay for a shared, family-style dinner with our hosts.

Day 7 October 15th
The day starts in the cutest little town of Karimabad. A visit to Baltit Fort, followed by lunch at Pavilion, a women-owned business. Time is set aside to wander the Karimabad markets, known for gemstones and dried fruits, and enjoy coffee at Mountain Cup Café. Dinner will be picked up to go and enjoyed at Eagle’s Nest while watching the sun set over Hunza Valley. After sunset, the drive continues to Gilgit for a nights rest before the upcoming hike.

Day 8 October 16th
An adventurous days begins along the Karakoram Highway, passing the rare junction where the Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindukush mountain ranges meet. At Raikot Bridge, the journey shifts into jeeps for a rugged two-hour drive to Tattu Valley along one of the world’s most treacherous roads. From the trailhead, a 6 km hike leads us to Fairy Meadows. Arriving at camp you’ll be surrounded by some of the tallest mountains in the world. Its truly a magical place that will set your soul on fire. We’ll check-in to our cozy log cabins with wood-burning fireplaces, have dinner and spend the evening around the fire enjoying traditional music and dancing by locals.
Optional: Horseback ride in place of hiking available for an additional fee (90 kg max weight).

Day 9 October 17th
This day is for you to choose your adventure.

Want to Trek closer to Nanga Parbat? The hike to Nanga Parbat basecamp takes approximately 8-10 hours roundtrip.
​
Want to take it easy? Rest at basecamp and take in the breathtaking views, take a short walk to a nearby glacier viewpoint, visit Reflection Lake.
​
The day winds down with a family-style dinner and a campfire evening beneath the stars.

Day 10 October 18th
The descent from Fairy Meadows leads back to the trailhead, 2 hours jeep ride, and onward to Raikot Bridge, where our main vehicle awaits. From there, we continue toward Naran Valley via Babusar Pass, one of the most scenic drives in the country. Frequent stops allow time to stretch, take photos, and enjoy lunch and chai along the way. Arriving in Naran we’ll have a relaxed evening at the hotel.

Day 11 October 19th
Continuing our drive toward Islamabad offers sweeping mountain views that make it hard to stop looking out the window, with plenty of breaks for more chai and local food along the way. After checking into the hotel and freshening up, the afternoon is spent exploring Islamabad, including visits to the Pakistan Monument and Faisal Mosque. The day ends with sunset views from Daman-e-Koh and a farewell dinner.

Day 12 October 20th
The trip comes to an end as we check out of the hotel and take transfers to ISB Airport for your flights home. Say farewell to your new friends and if you’re anything like me shed a few tears!
