Day 1
Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel! Take time to unwind from your travels and refresh before meeting the group at our welcome dinner. Your first taste of local Egyptian cuisine awaits.

Day 2
We kick off our first full day by stepping into one of the world’s greatest wonders, the Pyramids of Giza. We will ride camels across the sands and learn the fascinating history behind the Pyramids as well as the Sphinx. Then we’ll head to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, home to over 100,000 artifacts including treasures from King Tut’s tomb.

Day 3
Leaving Cairo behind, we venture deeper into Egypt’s raw beauty on a 4x4 desert expedition. First stop: the White Desert, famous for its surreal chalk formations sculpted over centuries by wind and sand. From there we move into the Black Desert, named for its dark volcanic stones that blanket the golden sand. After dinner at our desert camp, settle in for a sleepover under one of the clearest night skies.

Day 4
Arising early to see the desert glow with sunrise, we enjoy breakfast in the desert before returning to Cairo. We will board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan to make our way south along the Nile.

Day 5
Today begins with a ferry ride to the Temple of Philae, one of Egypt’s most beautiful sanctuaries located on an island. From here, we head to the colorful Nubian village - home to Egypt’s indigenous Nubian people, known for their distinct language, bright blue homes, and unmatched hospitality. We will stay with a Nubian family and enjoy a traditional feast and celebration.

Day 6
We rise early for one of the most breathtaking sites in Egypt: Abu Simbel. We will return to Aswan for and attend a cooking class in a local family home.

Day 7
This morning, we slow down and embrace ancient Egyptian tradition as we board our private felucca. These wind-powered wooden sailboats have drifted along the Nile for thousands of years. Spend the afternoon relaxing, reading, or sunbathing as we float through timeless scenery. Tonight, we enjoy an Egyptian banquet and sleep beneath the stars aboard the boat.

Day 8
Our journey continues toward Luxor, stopping at Kom Ombo Temple and Edfu Temple. After arriving in Luxor, we explore Luxor Temple seeing it magically illuminated at night.

Day 9
Wake up early for an *optional* sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. Later, we journey into the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of pharaohs and queens from the New Kingdom. We also visit Hatshepsut Temple, the extraordinary mortuary temple honoring Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh. Lastly, we will visit the stunning Karnak Temple.

Day 10
After days of ancient wonders, we shift into relaxation mode and head east to Hurghada on the Red Sea. Arriving early afternoon, we check into our 5* resort where you can unwind poolside or enjoy a swim in the clear turquoise waters.

Day 11
Boat day! Let’s dive into one of the world’s most beautiful marine ecosystems. The Red Sea is famous for its warm waters, colorful coral gardens, tropical fish, and thriving marine life. Spend the day snorkeling off the boat or sunbathing. We’ll gather in the evening for our farewell dinner at the marina.

Day 12
We’ve come to a bittersweet day. The journey comes to an end as we check out of the hotel and take a group transfer to Hurghada Airport for your flight home. Say farewell to your new friends and if you’re anything like me you’ll shed a few tears!
​
Checkout of the resort isn’t until 12:00 so if you want to enjoy the pool or sea for a few hours prior to heading to the airport it’s up to you!
